From Sheena Collum via Facebook:

South Orange and Maplewood recently received a third round of Grotta Fund Age Friendly Grant funding for $50,000 towards the implementation of the Age Friendly Community Action Plan recently developed by the Local Steering Committee.

That brings the total Grotta funding to date for the two towns to $110,000, with the potential for future funding of an additional $150,000 over the next three years. This funding will allow the Age Friendly initiative to implement the goals of the action plan and formalize permanent staffing to improve the quality of life for SOMA seniors.

The towns recently posted a job opening for a coordinator for the Age Friendly initiative.

“South Orange and Maplewood extend our sincere appreciation to the Grotta Fund and the many residents and stakeholders who have worked so hard on this initiative,” wrote Collum.
