Springfield Avenue Partnership Hosts ‘Pretty in Pink’ Rosé Tasting Fundraiser June 14

From the Springfield Avenue Partnership:

The Springfield Avenue Partnership is holding “Pretty in Pink” a fundraiser benefiting SAM beautification programs on Thursday, June 14 from 6:00 – 10:00 pm at the Wine Barrel parking lot, 1886 Springfield Avenue. “Pretty in Pink” is a rosé wine tasting event featuring over 25 different rosés to sample and a few additional varietals as well. The event is organized by the Springfield Avenue Partnership and sponsored by Wine Barrel, Avalon Maplewood and Cornbread.

The proceeds of the event will help fund plantings and additional seating areas along Springfield Avenue, including a pop-up outdoor dining area. Tickets are $25 in advance, available online at Brown Paper Tickets (SAM Pretty in Pink Rosé Tasting) and in person at the Wine Barrel, or $30 at the event. The event is strictly for adults 21 and over and IDs are required to enter the event.

In addition to the wine tastings, Cornbread and Woulibam Restaurant will offer some of their most popular menu items for an additional purchase. Local DJ, djmikel, will provide music throughout the evening with a special focus on the soundtracks of John Hughes films plus iconic music of that era. Avalon Maplewood will be giving reusable wine bags to the first 200 attendees.

Other SAM businesses contributing to the event include Stainfil Studios, Red Carpet Lady Event Production & Event Rentals, Psychic Readings, Meineke Car Care and Lotus Petals Floral Design.

“The funds raised at this event will have long-term benefits to the Springfield Avenue business district, which in turn benefits the entire community.” said Maplewood Mayor Vic DeLuca. “It’s a fun way for Maplewood residents to come together, enjoy a night out and support their local businesses.”

“We are grateful to Springfield Avenue-favorite Wine Barrel for hosting this event,” said Julie Doran, District Manager for the Springfield Avenue Partnership.  “The Partnership’s purpose is to support the business community and this event allows us to showcase several Springfield Avenue businesses while raising funds for new programs designed to activate and beautify SAM in ways that will attract both new businesses and new visitors.”
