From the Interfaith Hospitality Network (IHN) of Essex County:
On the evening of Monday, May 8th, a star studded line up of Broadway actors from South Orange and Maplewood will lend their talents to raise funds for homeless families served by Interfaith Hospitality Network (IHN) of Essex County. Titled “When I Think of Home”, the event will be held at the Woodland in Maplewood. The fundraiser will start at 7:00 p.m. with a silent auction and cocktail hour, followed by live performances at 8:00 p.m.
“When I Think of Home” is the brain child of long time Maplewood resident and veteran Broadway star Robert DuSold (Les Miserables, Jekyll & Hyde, The Producers), and is co-chaired by IHN Board Member and South Orange resident Chris Murphy. DuSold, who is well known in the area for organizing charity fundraisers for a variety of important causes, will be joined on stage by Broadway stars from Wicked, Mamma Mia, Cats, Phantom of the Opera, Fiddler on the Roof, Showboat, Chicago, The Lion King, Memphis, and Kiss of the Spider Woman. The actors, all of whom agreed to volunteer their time and talents, were moved by DuSold’s passion to rally around the issue of homelessness affecting vulnerable families in Essex County.

About Interfaith Hospitality Network (IHN) of Essex County – IHN is dedicated to providing shelter, direct services and housing assistance to homeless families in Essex County with help from an extensive network of volunteers and other partners throughout the community. IHN’s shelter program is supported by a network of area churches and synagogues that provide families with children a place to stay and three meals a day. While they’re in the shelter network, IHN works with moms and dads on a plan that addresses the issues that led to their homelessness. Goals are set and parents are compassionately guided to take the steps necessary to find a home and become self-sufficient. More information can be found at www.ihnessexnj.org.
