Temple Sharey Tefilo-Israel (TSTI), the Reform synagogue in South Orange, invites area residents to the following family-friendly services for the High Holy Days, which are open to all:
- Wed., Sept. 20 – Usher in the High Holy Day period at TSTI’s erev Rosh Hashanah service at 5:30 p.m., featuring music by the Afro-Semitic Experience and the band’s blend of jazz, klezmer, traditional and modern music.
- Thurs., Sept. 21 – Intergenerational Rosh Hashanah service at 2:15 p.m., designed for young children with their parents, grandparents or caregivers, and which incorporates song with prayers and age-appropriate stories. Children must be accompanied by an adult; non-members are welcome to attend. All are welcome to join the community afterwards for the tashlich service at the South Orange Duck Pond off Ridgewood Road at 4:00 p.m. Bring a picnic blanket and snacks to celebrate the New Year together.
- Sat., September 30 – Intergenerational Yom Kippur service at 2:15 p.m. Designed for young children with their parents, grandparents or caregivers, this service incorporates song with prayers and age-appropriate stories. Children must be accompanied by an adult; non-members are welcome to attend.
