TSTI Hosts Rosh Hashanah, Yom Kippur Services in October

Temple Sharey Tefilo-Israel (TSTI), the Reform synagogue in South Orange, invites those who wish to experience a more casual setting to start the Jewish New Year at its early erev Rosh Hashanah service on Sunday, October 2 at 5:30p.m. The one-hour service, open to the public, will be held on the expansive lawn and elegant terrace at TSTI, located at 432 Scotland Road. Attendees should bring lawn chairs or blankets. The service, which is especially suited to families with young children, will conclude with apples and honey. No tickets are required to attend.

On Rosh Hashanah, Monday, October 3 and on Yom Kippur, October 12, there will be an open intergenerational service at 2:15p.m., designed for young children with their parents or caregivers; these services incorporate joyous song with prayers and age-appropriate stories. Children must be accompanied by an adult; non-members are welcome to attend. Participants may also join the TSTI community for tashlich, the ceremonial casting away of sins, at 3:30 p.m. on October 3.
