With Tropical Depression Bonnie promising to drown out the annual Maplewood Memorial Day Duck Race, event organizers have made a quack — er, quick — switch to an indoor location and the newly dubbed “Duck Fest” tomorrow.

“It’s not a washout! Duck Fest at The Woodland! Bring your kids, friends & neighbors!” wrote Kate Cestar Epstein of the Metro YMCAs in an email notification.

Duck Fest will take place Monday, May 30, 2016 at 11 a.m. at The Woodland at 60 Woodland, Maplewood.

“The parade may be cancelled but we’ve got a DJ, ducks, games and prizes galore!” said Cestar Epstein. “Win TV’s, Great Wolf Lodge package, gift certificates and more.”

“Get out of the house and join us for a waddle! See you at The Woodland!”

(Maplewood Township has cancelled the annual Memorial Day Parade but will hold its annual Memorial Day Ceremony — usually observed outdoors — inside Maplewood Town Hall at 10 a.m., Monday, May 30. Town Hall is located at 574 Valley Street, Maplewood.)
