LETTER: Summer Jones Finds Common Ground, Gets Things Done

Dear Editor,

I am writing to endorse my friend and work colleague Summer Jones for the Village Board of Trustees.

I have worked for and with Summer at Montclair State University. During that time she has personally helped me grow professionally as well as helped the institution grow and move forward with countless technology initiatives greatly improving the experience at the University for all. She’s loved by all on campus. She helps whenever and wherever possible to those who need it. While working for her, she encouraged and pushed me to do things I didn’t think were possible. In my current position, I get to work with her to develop and implement new initiatives to improve technology on campus. I see how she works to find common ground with those on
campus even when the views differ. Somehow she still manages to get things done and make progress for the University. I see Summer as an ideal choice for Village Board of Trustee from both a professional and personal point of view.

Over time, I’ve watched how South Orange changed from the time I was in grade school until now as an adult. South Orange is great, but there is a lot of room for improvement and I feel like Summer can help to make it happen. I’ve been witness to Summer’s ability to identify pain-points and challenges, navigate within the organizational structure, collaboratively develop solutions, and always work for the Win-Win. Every vote counts in our local elections! Please turn out for Your Voice, Our Village on May 14th and Vote Line C!

Sincerely,

Brian Carter, CHS, Class of 96’
