Election Maplewood South Orange

It’s Official — 2 Dems, 1 Republican on the Ballot for Maplewood Primary

There are two seats up for election this year on the Maplewood Township Committee, and the deadline for filing has now passed.

As previously reported, Mayor Vic DeLuca and newcomer Dean Dafis will be running on the Democratic slate. Mike Summersgill will be running in the Republican primary. The primary election takes place Tuesday, June 6. 

No other candidates filed to join Summersgill or oppose DeLuca and Dafis.

The filings were confirmed today by Maplewood Town Clerk Elizabeth Fritzen.

Meanwhile, South Orange is holding an election on Tuesday, May 9 to fill three seats on the six seat Board of Trustees. Incumbents Walter Clarke and Steve Schnall are running for re-election. They are joined on the South Orange 2017 ticket by Karen Hilton. Nureed Saeed has also declared her candidacy for the South Orange Board of Trustees.
