The annual Dog Days of Summer event at the Maplewood Pool started in 2017 and has now grown so popular that the town expanded it this year from one day to two. The event allows local dog owners to bring their furry four-legged friends to enjoy the pool — after it closes for the season to humans.
For 2026, the town opened the pool complex to cavorting canines on both September 10 and 12. Smartly, the Health Department ran a free rabies vaccination clinic at the pool on September 12.
