Two young men armed with one handgun robbed a Maplewood resident on Hudson Avenue in Maplewood on Thursday, November 6, according to the Maplewood Police Department.

The robbery took place at approximately 8:30 p.m.

The victim said he was approached by his attackers while walking on Hudson Avenue. The victim grabbed the arm of the male attacker holding the handgun. The second attacker, also male, struck him once and knocked him to the ground.

The two alleged attackers then took the victim’s wallet and backpack and fled on foot.

Both are believed to be in their late teens or early twenties and were wearing dark hooded sweatshirts.

The victim sustained a bloody nose and was treated by the Maplewood Fire Department but refused transportation.
