Maplewood Police have alerted residents to use caution in the area of West Parker and Valley Street (near Columbia High School). “A black bear was observed in the area by a passerby. Officers are checking the area, but it has not been located after the initial report,” read an email alert sent by police at 6:19 a.m., Wednesday, June 30.
