Irvington Woman & Newark Man Arrested in Connection with Maplewood Burglary

Maplewood Police arrested two people in connection with a burglary on Elmwood Avenue Thursday afternoon. At around 3 p.m., officers responded to an unoccupied home on the 200 block of Elmwood Avenue to investigate a report of two people trespassing on the property, said Sgt. Christopher Black. Police found 56-year-old Yvette Pugh of Irvington walking away from the area; Pugh fit the description of one of the two people and police arrested her and charged her with trespassing, said Black.

Police then determined the home had allegedly been broken into, and found Anthony Capaldo, 54 of Newark inside. Police arrested Capaldo and charged him with burglary and possession of burglary tools.
