Maplewood Police Arrest Man in Shoplifting at Irvington Ave. 7-Eleven

Here is this week’s Maplewood police blotter, from Sgt. Christopher Black:

February 1, 2017; Shoplifting Arrest; At approximately 5:30 PM officers responded to the area of the 7-11 on Irvington Ave on a report of two shoplifters.  Officers were able to locate the suspects that then attempted to flee.  Jamir Timmons age 18 of Newark was able to be stopped and was arrested.

February 1, 2017; Theft Arrest; It was reported that a backpack was stolen from Memorial Park between 4 PM and 6:30 PM.  A male later identified as 59 year old Leon Boyd of Irvington was stopped on Springfield Ave in possession of the stolen property.  He was arrested and charged with receiving stolen property.

February 5, 2017: Stolen Motor Vehicle; During the daytime hours, an unsecured Mercedes was stolen from the train station on Dunnell Rd.
