Maplewood Police Arrest Newark Man in Alleged Attempted Shoplifting at Dollar Tree

Maplewood Police arrested 48-year-old Newark resident Hosea Kendrick on Thursday after he allegedly attempted to shoplift from the Dollar Tree store on Springfield Ave.

The officers responded to the area at around 7:15 p.m. after a report of an attempted shoplifting and were able to identify Kendrick from a description provided.

September 26, 2016; Attempted Vehicle Theft; During the overnight hours two vehicles were entered and their ignitions damaged consistent with an attempted theft.  One vehicle was parked on the 400 block of Boyden Ave and the second on the 100 block of Jacoby St.

September 28, 2016; Shoplifting; At approximately 2 PM, officers responded to the area of the Wine Barrel on Springfield Ave on a reported attempted shoplifting.  Officers checked the area for the actor, but he was unable to be located.

October 02, 2016; Motor Vehicle Theft; A Dodge Neon parked in the pool lot on Boyden Ave was stolen sometime over the prior week.
