A car struck two unoccupied parked cars at Boyden Avenue on Tuesday, causing serious injuries to the driver and passengers, police said.
At around 9:15 p.m., the car, a Toyota Corolla with the driver and three passengers, hit two cars parked at 80 Boyden Avenue at the intersection of Elberta Road, according to Maplewood Police Chief Jim DeVaul.
The driver and a passenger were seriously injured; the passenger remains in critical condition, DeVaul said. Another passenger reported minor injuries.
The Essex County Prosecutors Officer (ECPO) responded to the scene and conducted an investigation, during which Boyden Ave was closed from Elberta Rd. to Midland Blvd. ECPO is continuing to investigate the cause of the crash, DeVaul said.
