A Maplewood resident was the victim of a phone fraud on October 9, when the resident received a phone call from someone claiming to work for a technical support company that the resident had subscribed to. The caller provided the resident with some account information and convinced the resident he was an employee of the company, said Sgt. Christopher Black. The caller was able to convince the resident to make a payment to him using ITunes cards and Money Gram, said Black. The resident later realized it was a scam and reported it to the police.
