Maplewood & South Orange to Host National Night Out Events Tuesday, August 6

Both the Maplewood and South Orange police departments and townships will be hosting National Night Out activities on Tuesday, August 6, 2019.

From Maplewood Police:

Maplewood will once again host NATIONAL NIGHT OUT in DEHART PARK, 120 Burnett Avenue, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. The evening will feature music, food and drinks, DJ, bounce houses, superheroes, Ben and Jerry’s Ice Cream Truck and a Video game truck. National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make our neighborhoods safer, more caring place to live. From South Orange:

National Night Out – Tuesday, August 6, 2019 on Floods Hill. Public Safety Fair – Kids Zone – Live Music – Giveaways – Outdoor Movie. National Night Out kicks off at 6:30 PM with live music and a public safety fair where residents can learn more about various departments and organizations in town. There will be a kids zone with bounce houses, water slides, coloring stations, activities and free merchandise giveaways including tee-shirts, frisbees and glow sticks. Food trucks and vendors will be on site so come hungry! At 8:30 PM, sit under the stars with some popcorn and cotton candy and enjoy a family friendly movie – don’t forget your blanket and lawn chairs!
