Motorcyclist Injured in Crash with Car on Springfield Avenue

A motorcycle and a car collided on Springfield Avenue Saturday night, injuring the motorcycle driver, said Sgt. Christopher Black of the Maplewood Police Department.

The crash took place at the intersection of Burnet Avenue at around 9:45 p.m., said Black. Police are still investigating the incident, but believe the motorcyclist might have improperly passed a car just before being struck, Black said. The driver was transported to UMDNJ for treatment by the Maplewood Fire Department, said Black.

July 04, 2014; Burglary; A home on Prospect St was entered during the late morning or early evening hours. At the time of the report it is unknown if anything was taken from the home.

July 4, 2014; Disorderly; Following the fireworks, three juveniles were arrested on disorderly charges and attempting to elude officers.

July 7, 2014; Theft from Auto; A resident of Essex Rd parked their car in their driveway, left it unlocked and entered their home for several minutes. When they return a bag containing electronics, cash and checks was discovered stolen.

July 8, 2014; Attempt Vehicle Theft; During the overnight hours a Chrysler Minivan parked in a lot on Springfield Ave sustained damage indicative of an attempted theft.

July 12, 2014; Burglary; During the overnight hours, entry was forced to the Weichert Realtors office on Valley St. Computers and other items were reported stolen.

July 12, 2014; Theft from Auto; During the overnight hours two vehicles in the driveway of a home on Roosevelt Rd and one vehicle in the driveway of a South Collingwood Rd were entered and items removed. All vehicles were left unlocked. The items stolen include electronics, cash and cell phone chargers.
