Police Arrest East Orange Man in Burglary of Maplewood Civic House

Maplewood Police arrested a man in the alleged theft of a cell phone at the Civic House on Dunnell Road on August 1.

An employee reported that someone had entered the building and taken a cell phone during the overnight hours, police said.  Police arrested 29-year-old Jamal Mitchell of East Orange and charged him with criminal trespass and theft.

July 30, 2018; Motor Vehicle Theft; Sometime during the overnight hours a vehicle was stolen from a residence on the 200 block of Wyoming Ave.  The vehicle was recovered by Millburn PD.

July 31, 2018; Shoplifting; The clerk at 7-11 on Irvington Ave reported that at 10:30 AM, a male entered the store, took a coffee and then left without paying for it.

August 3, 2018; Burglary; During the daytime hours, entry was forced to a home on the 80 block of Jacoby St.  Electronics were reported missing at the time of the report.

August 4, 2018; Theft from Auto; During the overnight hours an unsecured vehicle parked  in the driveway of a home on the 100 block of Oakland Rd was entered and a wallet and speakers were removed.
