South Orange is once again seeing a surge in car burglaries, and police are reminding residents to lock their car doors.

“We can’t stress enough, lock doors,” said Sgt. Adrian Acevedo. “Place valuables out of sight. Call us when you see something suspicious.”

Acevedo said while the problem is town wide, there have recently been a number of thefts on Ridgewood Road as well as in the Montrose Area and Tuxedo Park.

The number for the South Orange Police Department is 973-763-3000.
