Updated, Sept. 11, 10:03 p.m.: Seton Hall University Interim President Mary J. Meehan identified the deceased student as Julian M. Mislavsky, 23, of Morristown. See Meehan’s full letter to the SHU community below.
A Seton Hall student was pronounced dead after reportedly falling from a campus parking deck on Tuesday afternoon, police said.
After responding to a 911 call at around 12:15 p.m. about a person falling from the deck, South Orange Police found a man laying on the grass median adjacent to the parking deck’s exit. Emergency responders treated the man at the scene and brought him to University Hospital in Newark, where he was pronounced dead at 1:12 pm, Kroll said.
The man was later identified as 23-year-old Julian M. Mislavsky of Morristown, a senior.
Authorities do not currently suspect foul play, but the investigation is continuing and the cause of death will be determined pending the results of an autopsy from the Medical Examiner’s Office.
Anyone with information or who witnessed the incident is asked to contact Detective Lieutenant Brian McGuire of the South Orange Police Department at (973) 763-3000 x. 7788.
