The South Orange Police have received a number of calls recently about door-to-door solicitors.

“We currently only have two organizations with valid permits,” said South Orange Police Sgt. Adrian Acevedo, who provided the following notice:

PUBLIC NOTICE REGARDING DOOR TO DOOR SOLICITORS:

The following organizations have recently been granted permission to conduct door to door soliciting:

Power Home Remodeling – Their permit is valid, 8/22-8/26. They will be in the area speaking with residents regarding home improvements.

Home Instead Senior Care – Their permit is valid from 7/27-8/31.

Please note, these are the only permits issued at this time. Don’t hesitate to call South Orange Police if you’re unsure about who is ringing your doorbell.

Feel free to contact Sgt. Adrian Acevedo of the SOPD Community Relations Bureau at 973-763-3000 ext 7802 with any questions and as always, share this post to help us spread the word.
