South Orange Police Arrest 2 in Strong-Arm Robbery on Irvington Avenue

South Orange Police arrested two Newark residents on the morning of June 25 and charged them with allegedly committing a strong-arm robbery on Irvington Avenue.

Witnesses reported to police they saw the Hezekiah Mathis, 19, and a 17-year-old boy punching a man in the face several times before stealing his wallet. Police saw the two in Ivy Hill Park and arrested them after a brief foot chase. The 17-year-old was reportedly found with the victim’s credit cards and cash, cops said.

Police charged the two with robbery and conspiracy to commit robbery.
