South Orange Police arrested a Newark man on Wednesday and charged him with burglary in an incident that took place on Wednesday.
According to the blotter, police stopped 60-year-old Anthony Ford of Newark at around 3 a.m. while he was biking near South Orange Avenue and South Kingman Road., and found a chainsaw and a battery charger on him. Initially, Ford allegedly provided a false name, but police arrested him after they learned he had a warrant from the Essex County Sheriff’s Department.
After investigation, police discovered the bicycle, the chainsaw and the battery pack had allegedly been taken from a garage on Fairview Avenue. They charged Ford with Burglary, Theft, Hindering and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
