An Orange teen was reportedly assaulted and robbed by a large group of young men in dark clothing and white masks on Halloween night, said South Orange Police Chief Kyle Kroll.

The boy said that on Monday at 8:35 p.m. he was standing on the corner of Valley Street and South Orange Ave. when the group walked by him and one struck him in the head, police said. The boy fell to the ground and one of the men grabbed his phone. The group then fled south on Valley Street and east on First Street, said Kroll.

The boy was not seriously injured, said Kroll. Detectives are investigating the incident.
