Teen Arrested in South Orange Library Parking Lot, Charged with Auto Theft

South Orange Police arrested a 16-year-old Orange resident on February 6, and charged him with stealing a car from East Orange several days earlier, according to the police blotter.

Police officers responded to a call reporting an erratic driver in the area of Vose Avenue on February 6 at 5:47 p.m. Officers found the teen in the South Orange Public Library parking lot driving a Toyota Camry that had been reported as stolen from East Orange on February 2, said police.

The teenager was arrested at the scene, transported to police headquarters and processed.
