The following is from the SOMA DEMS

On July 25th at 7:30 pm, SOMA DEMS,  South Orange/Maplewood’s Democratic Club, will hold a General Meeting at Above Restaurant and Bar located at 1 South Orange Ave. in South Orange. The theme of the meeting will be “The Campaign for Governor and Why It’s Important” and is a kick off for local support of the Phil Murphy Campaign. In addition to focusing on what members can do locally to aid the campaign, the meeting will detail how a new Governor will make a difference in the lives of community members through Trenton policy. Speakers will include Murphy’s Campaign Manager and Freeholder Brendan Gill, Assembly Members John McKeon and Mila Jasey, and South Orange Village President Sheena Collum. Additionally there will be an update on advocacy efforts from the NJ Working Families Alliance.

“SOMA DEMS ties together political and advocacy work,” said Larry Hirsch, Vice President. “The progressive activism of the South Orange/Maplewood community is outstanding. It’s important that we begin organizing now to help elect Phil Murphy and continue to work on the many important issues that effect our state and country.”
