The Baird in South Orange Offers February Break Workshops for Kids

Trying to figure out what to do with the children during the upcoming Presidents’ Day holiday? South Orange – Maplewood Schools are closed from Thursday, February 12 through Monday, February 16.

The Baird in South Orange offers one option, for more information see below:

Sciensational Workshops for Kids, Inc. is coming to the Baird February 12th and 13th, 9am-4pm. In this two-day workshop for children ages 7-12, participants will:

  • Build and take home a ‘Blowfish Robocraft’
  • Watch their craft swim in a miniature pool
  • Learn about motors and how they work
  • Learn about gears and circuits
  • Enter their craft in Sciensational Races
  • Design and build other robots

All materials are provided but creativity is key! With these projects, children are introduced to various scientific concepts. Hands on…learn while you play, the Sciensational way!

Children should bring a lunch (and snacks/drinks if needed).
