The following is from a swim team parent:

Whether home or away, the Columbia High School Girls Varsity Swim Team continues to amaze and to win. Last Thursday was their 10th straight win over a tough and favored team, Mount St. Dominic Academy. It all came down to the very last race with anchor Marie Fagan winning the 400 free relay by a mere half second.

They are undefeated and undeterred with a winning streak of 10-0. And with four meets remaining the girls have their sights on a great season. Congrats to Coach Maggie for once again putting together an unbeatable line up winning by a single race.

The Boys Varsity team is doing great as well, with a record so far of 2-7-1. They have won two meets, tied one and lost three of the seven by only 8-12 points.

The team and their coaches, Maggie and Eddie are excited about the season. Being able to practice and host all their meets at home for the second year has been a huge accomplishment and great motivation for the team.

In addition, those who qualify are at the Essex County Swimming Championships on Monday, January 18. We have quite a few boys (more than half the Varsity team) and girls competing at this meet.

Our next two dual meets are at home. We will host Montclair High School on Wednesday, January 20th and West Orange High school on Friday, January 22nd. Both meets start at 4:30pm.
