Fall Classes at the Baird Center Open for Registration

Registration for Fall Classes at the Baird Center has begun, with a variety of options in activities for adults, young teens and children. The classes include dancing, art, music, sports and more ranging from beginner to intermediate.

Most classes begin the week of September 15, and cost $110 and up. Registration is online at the Official Baird Center Website.

Students will need a camera that has full manual control as an option, preferably a SLR. Point and shoot cameras with automatic settings will not be used in this class. Beginners also welcome.

This course uses a basic color system that divides skin tones into three color groups and utilizes a traditional seven layer method of painting, particularly good for beginners. This seven week course covers: Transferring a portrait onto canvas, composition, working up the grisaille or dead layer, fat over lean and use of mediums, blocking in background, hair and clothing in harmonious ways, glazing, scumbling and impasto.
