20151024_095657Last Saturday, 22 Cubscouts from Pack 3, along with their families, removed a large quantity of trash from the Mayapple Section of the South Mountain Reservation.

Tracey Woods, trash tackler coordinator for the South Mountain Conservancy, began the clean up by telling the boys: “I want you kids to know how important the work you are doing today is. Picking up the litter keeps it out of the waterways and habitat of the reservation’s animals. These animals can mistake the litter for food and swallowing it can make them sick or worse.”

20151024_094823The Conservation hosts clean ups from March to November. Groups interested in setting up a clean up can contact the South Mountain Conservancy at trashtacklers@somocon.org.
