Maplewood and S. Orange Middle Schools Welcome New Security Guards

These messages were sent to the South Orange – Maplewood Middle School communities by principals Jerrill Adams (MMS) and Lynn Irby (SOMS) on Monday morning, October 26: 

Adams: Please join me in welcoming our new school unarmed security guard, Mr. Sullivan, who will be joining our school community today. Mr. Sullivan has been working at Columbia High School as a security guard for the past six years. His primary role will be visitor containment and ID verification, and he will be on duty from7:30am until 4:00pm. Effective immediately, all parents and visitors must show valid ID at the security desk for entry to MMS. Mr. Sullivan will be stationed at the top of the stairs at our main entrance and will escort all guests to the main office for further assistance.

Irby: Please join me in welcoming our new school unarmed security guard, Mr. Green, who will be joining our school community today. Mr. Green has been working at Columbia High School as a security guard for the past six years. As discussed at the Meet & Greet, his primary role will be visitor containment and ID verification, and he will be on duty from 7:30am until 4:00pm. Effective immediately, all parents and visitors must enter through the front entrance, and show valid ID at the security desk for entry to SOMS. Mr. Green will be stationed in the vestibule of our main entrance and will escort all guests to the main office for further assistance.
