The following is from the Maplewood Recreation Department:
The Recreation Department sponsors travel teams that participate in the local Suburban Essex League. Through an intense and highly competitive tryout, players are selected for teams. Once selected, teams will immediately begin practicing 2-4 times per week, and play twice a week starting in December. Players are expected to be fully committed to teams, and should notify coaches prior to tryouts if they have any other commitment during the season. Players who wish to tryout for the travel teams should have an advanced skill level and knowledge of the game. Players must be able to perform at a high level based upon the coaches’ philosophy and competitive nature of the league. Since travel teams are playing at a highly competitive level, players who are selected, are not guaranteed playing time. Playing time will be issued at the coaches’ discretion. 10-11 players will be selected for each team.
Boy’s Teams Include:
4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th Grades
Girl’s Teams Include:
5th – 8th Grades dependent upon participation
