The South Orange-Maplewood Board of Education unanimously approved the appointment of two new administrators on Monday, February 25, 2019.
Melissa Butler became one of four Assistant Principals at Columbia High School, replacing Celeste Denman who resigned recently. Butler has been serving as Supervisor of English Language Arts, K – 12, for the South Orange-Maplewood School District. She begins work as Asst. Principal on March 18 at the salary of $110,155. Butler is a Bammy Award-winning educator.
Angel Rivera was appointed Assistant Principal of Jefferson School. He has worked as a 4th and 5th grade teacher at Jefferson and as a Math Skills Booster and expressed his gratitude at being able to continue to serve in the same district where he began his career. Rivera replaces William Hannis, who resigned. Rivera begins work as Asst. Principal on Feb. 26 at the salary of $85,959.
