It’s one of the most anticipated moments of the year in South Orange — the unveiling of the Newstead 5K t-shirt.
This year — drum roll, please! — the shirt is a lovely grey with pink logo (just like Rafael Nadal at the U.S. Open, says organizer Monique de la Cour, who is directing the race this year with Mutlu Bascillar).
Online registration for the race — which takes place on September 16 in the beautiful, woodsy Newstead neighborhood of South Orange — is now closed. Click HERE to print a registration form and bring it to Packet Pickup, or directly to the registration table on race day. The race benefits students in all 10 South Orange/Maplewood schools through the Achieve Foundation. Since 2002, the event has provided as much as $30,000 annually to enhance education and promote fitness and good health.
Those who are already registered can pick up their race packets at D&I Fitness starting Thursday, September 14. We recommend that you pick up early — those t-shirts are doled out on a first-come, first-served basis (some have collected all 15 t-shirts thus far). The are guaranteed for packet pickup but not for race day registration!
