Local retailers and independent merchandisers will be selling their unique wares, including handbags, home goods, accessories, jewelry, children’s gifts and more, according to a press release. It’s a great time to get a head-start on holiday shopping.
Most vendors will accept either cash or personal checks, and will donate ten percent of proceeds to Open Door.
New this year is a silent auction, with prizes including a chance to attend the opening bell of the New York Stock Exchange, go behind the scenes at CNBC’s “Fast Money” television show taping, or win several vacation, fitness, or personal wellness packages.
“The ‘Sip & Shop’ evening is Open Door’s biggest public fundraiser of the year and funds raised go toward updating facilities, providing staff development, and purchasing new play equipment and enrichment activities for students” said Open Door’s Director, Alethea Randazza. “It’s an important night for us and we are always surprised at the overwhelming support of our our neighbors and friends from the community and surrounding towns.”
Located at the Wyoming Presbyterian Church on Wyoming Avenue – home to the infamous Pumpkin Patch – Open Door Nursery School has been a fixture in the Millburn, Short Hills, Maplewood, and South Orange communities for 40 years. The school’s mission is to provide an atmosphere for young children, ages 2.5 to 5, that is responsive to the development of the whole child and is committed to physical, intellectual, social, and emotional well-being of each student.
