The South Orange-Maplewood School District will vote Monday on whether to hire SchoolPresser, a company to create a new website for the district at an estimated cost of $35,000.
The district’s website has been due for an overhaul for many years, and the administration and Board of Education has been discussing options for some time. The website has been the source of many complaints for being antiquated, difficult to search and navigate and not updated frequently enough.
According to the resolution, SchoolPresser will design, build, and implement a new website for SOMSD that will utilize “previously identified designs, district and school website content…built on top of a modern and open source management platform.”
The proposal includes “expanding overall responsive design, building website and pages, migrating existing website content, building document repositories, training, and support.”
According to its website, Schoolpresser uses WordPress, which is an open source content management system.
The resolution on hiring SchoolPresser is 3767S.
