If you’re feeling flush with cash and want a fully renovated luxury home, you may want to take a look at 53 Curtiss Place is Maplewood; it’s listed for $1,499,000.

The 6-bedroom, 4.5 bath center hall colonial is not the highest priced listing ever in Maplewood. According to realtor Robert Northfield, another home in Maplewood was listed for $1.6 million last year; however, that home sold for $1.3 million. Northfield, who specializes in luxury homes, said that the highest price paid for a listed Maplewood home in recent years (since 2008) was $1.4 million for 438 Walton Road.

In 2007, a unit at 616 South Orange Avenue, listed for $1.99 million, sold for $1.8 million. And in 2006, 15-19 Tower Drive sold for $1.9 million (it was listed at the same price).

With that in mind, 53 Curtiss Place is potentially poised to break some recent records. Million dollar homes have become more common again in the last few years as house values have lifted in a hot market. (See Mark Slade’s Maplewood market report for 2016 here.)

Even if you haven’t got the cash, watching the video for 53 Curtiss on Northfield’s website will give you serious real estate envy. The home’s gracious spaces flow beautifully from one room to the next. There’s a chef’s kitchen with “waterfall edge” center island and high-end commercial appliances, marble and custom tile bathrooms, a large master suite with walk in closet and fireplace — and new heating and cooling, plumbing, electric, roof and patio  (and the windows have been restored windows), plus more, all on a half acre of property in the Wyoming section of town.
