Last week, the Mark Slade Homes Team closed 112 Maplewood Ave at a close-to-record-breaking price for a home in Maplewood. According to Slade, the highest price ever paid in Maplewood was for a home on Tower Drive, clocking in at $1,900,000, which closed in March of 2006.
The sale of 112 Maplewood Ave ties for second place at $1,800,000 with a sale at The Top in October of 2007 for a property that was asking $1,990,000. Conversely, 112 Maplewood Ave was asking $1,645,000. Slade reports that the owners are looking forward to putting down new roots in Maplewood after living in South Orange for the past seven years at The Manors.
The seller, Brinton Brosius, had completely renovated 112 Maplewood Avenue, including a “complete interior demolition to make way for a new kitchen, four full baths, mechanical systems, windows, exterior doors, and extensive site work for this historic 1911 center hall colonial.” According to the Brinton Brosius Inc. website, “This large project was awarded the ‘Historic Achievement Award’ by the Maplewood Historical Society.”
Brosius is now moving into the custom home he constructed next door.
