From Far Brook School in Short Hills:
Far Brook School welcomes Richard Blanco, inaugural poet for Barack Obama, storyteller, and diversity advocate, to provide the keynote address at its third annual Widening the Lens diversity conference for independent schools. A poet, memoirist, and essayist, Blanco captivates audiences with his dynamic storytelling and his advocacy for diversity, LGBTQ rights, immigration, arts education, and cultural exchange. Blanco’s keynote address will inspire thirteen independent schools to build action plans that foster inclusion around this year’s conference theme: From Attending to Belonging: Re-Imagining Independent Schools for our Intersectional Communities.
Following the conference, in an event open to the public, Blanco will share some of his poetry and excerpts from his memoir. Limited seats are available for An Evening with Richard Blanco Saturday, November 10 at 5pm. Reserve today. Tickets here.
Widening the Lens and the evening Richard Blanco reading are hosted by Far Brook School, a Nursery – Eighth Grade independent school, and sponsored by the school in partnership with ConnectOne Bank, David Ellis Events, and Far Brook’s Head of School Speaker Series.
