Soccer

South Mountain Soccer is a recreational soccer program which offers a wide range of opportunities to players at all levels in the fall and/or spring seasons. There are no tryouts. Teams are formed randomly and participate in the InterCounty Youth Soccer League (ICYSL) against teams from nearby communities.

Registration for South Mountain Soccer began February 1st online HERE or in person at The Baird Center with the attached registration form. The U10/U12/U15 programs are for players born 2002-2008 and the U17 program for those born from 2000-2002. The registration deadline is February 11th or when the program is fully enrolled, whichever comes first. EARLY REGISTRATION IS ENCOURAGED! For more information, click HERE. South Mountain Soccer registration is by age, not grade, in conformance with revised NJ Youth Soccer rules and regulations. Registration is open to players born 2002-2008. The spring season is tentatively scheduled to begin the last week of March and end in early June. All teams practice with professional trainers once a week with games on the weekends.The ICYSL divisions include U10, U12 and U15 as follows:

U10 division includes players born in 2007 and 2008 (see U10 NOTE below)

U12 division includes players born in 2005 and 2006

U15 division includes players born in 2002-2004

U10 NOTE: If registration in the U10 divisions is sufficient, consideration will be given to forming in-town South Mountain Soccer league for U10 teams ONLY.

U17 NOTE: If there is sufficient interest and a committed volunteer coach, we are able to enter a team in the boys and/or girls ICYSL U17 division. Carded travel team players and Varsity level players are NOT eligible to participate in ICYSL.If interested, please emailpcoleman@southorange.org with the player’s name and birth year.
