The end of August has brought a spate of road paving announcements from the Township of Maplewood.

Dunnell and Baker

According to an email notice from the Township Engineering Department, streets surrounding the Maplewood Train Station should be avoided in coming days: on Saturday, August 30, Dunnell Road paving will begin between 7 a.m. and 8 a.m. Baker Street will be paved Tuesday, September 2 starting between 7 a.m. and 8 a.m.

Please note: there will be no overnight parking on Dunnell Road or in the Dunnell Road parking lot on Friday, August 29.

According to a Township email, “The lot will close at 5 p.m. and no more vehicles will be allowed to park. All commuters that parked at the lot this morning will be able to exit the lot upon their return. Parking lot will re-open Sunday morning.”

Ridgewood Road

Maplewood Township Engineering reports that work will begin on Sept. 2 on Phase 2 of the 2014 road program, with work on Ridgewood Road from Millburn to Woodland Road. “The initial work will be to replace handicap ramps at the intersection,” reads the email. “After that is complete the road will be milled, paved and restriped.”

Maplecrest Park Pathway Repaving

The final notice does not involve any road repaving — just park paths. According to a newsflash email from Maplewood Engineering:

Work will begin on Sept. 2 on the pathways in Mapecrest Park. The contractor will be milling, widening and repaving the pathways in the park to allow better access for the Police and Public Works Dept.

Thank you for your patience and cooperation during this construction.
