Not hearing enough from your local government?

Maplewood residents can get the scoop on all Township news by signing up for alerts through the Township “Notify Me” and “Code Red” notification systems.

To sign up, visit the Township’s home page (www.twp.maplewood.nj.us). At the top right corner, click on the buttons for the “Notify Me Sign-Up” and/or “Code Red Emergency Alert Notification.”

Residents can sign up for email notification or text messages.

But make sure you keep the town notified if your contact information changes! Notify Me subscribers with an invalid or outdated email address will be allowed three bounces before the email address is disabled. Users are able to log into their accounts to update information.

For Code Red, residents can sign up to be notified by local emergency response teams in the event of “emergency situations or critical community alerts.”

Residents are able to register their home address as the desired “address to be monitored” and receive alerts/notifications regarding any emergency situations in the area.

Finally, a new version of the Township’s Mobile App is available for Apple users. An update version for Android users is coming out soon, according to the Maplewood Leaflet — the town’s newsletter.

The app provides access to Maplewood Township news, alerts, event information and more from their smart phone devices and/or tablets. In addition, residents are able to make reservation requests for fields in the parks, submit service requests, and review information regarding Township facilities; including hours of operation, contact information and directions.

To find the app, search “Maplewood NJ” in your Apple or Android device and download it for free.
