In the midst of forecasted arctic temperatures, the Township of South Orange Village has announced the opening of warming centers. (For more information visit here.)

While all municipal buildings will be closed on Monday, February 15 in observance of Presidents Day, the South Orange Office of Emergency Management is prepared to open 24 hour shelters in the event of power outages.

A posting on southorange.org also encourages locals to visit “many of our local merchants’ downtown for a place to warm up, grab a bite to eat, a hot cup of coffee or even see a movie (hint: inaugural SOMA Film Festival runs Feb. 12-16 at SOPAC). Stay safe South Orange.”
