The following is from the South Orange Village Center Alliance “Village Vibe”:

In an effort to help beautify our Village Center, SOVCA is initiating a new program that we are calling Restart with Art that, among other things, will include installing artwork into vacant storefronts. We are very pleased to announce that our first such project is complete!

If you haven’t walked or driven by the former Blockbuster space in the last few days, please go and take a look because you’ll see something very different. Local artist Bill Billec has painted a beautiful winter scene that now graces the old Blockbuster windows, and this art really makes a big difference in how the entire block looks!

In the future, we’ll be collaborating with the South Orange Department of Cultural Affairs, and with the support of our South Orange residents, Restart With Art is a program that we would like to expand. In that regard, please be on the lookout for our Annual Report which should be hitting your mailboxes any day now and includes a special holiday appeal from us!
