Enter Durand-Hedden’s Gingerbread House Competition

Do you make a mean gingerbread house? Here’s your chance to show off your holiday baking prowess.

The Durand-Hedden House invites bakers and confectioners of all ages to take part in the 2nd annual Gingerbread House Competition Dec. 7 at 1 p.m.. Everyone — from individuals and families to food professional — is encouraged to enter. Any structure, real or imaginary, is eligible.

Entry forms are due December 4 and houses must be dropped off by December 6.

Entries will be exhibited at Durand-Hedden from December 7 and 12 – 14 and then at the Hilton library branch from December 15 to January 10.

Remember to bring a camera to get a photo of your children with the Durand-Hedden “Victorian Santa.” Also, shop the Country Store for inexpensive and unique gifts including early American children’s games and toys, facsimile documents, quill pens and ink, historic cookbooks, cookie molds, tin lanterns, hand-blown blue birds, reproductive decorative items and ceramics, movie posters from the 1990’s, and more.
