Maplewood Ave Paving Project Update: Drainage Work to Be Finished Today

From Maplewood Township:

Bumpout construction at Maplewood Avenue and Baker Street, October 12, 2018.

Maplewood Village Construction Update: Maplewood Avenue Paving Project

Phase one installation of the bump outs on the west side of Maplewood Avenue is continuing at a quick pace! The drainage improvements at the intersections of Durand, Lenox and Baker should be completed today. All of next week, the stone and concrete bases for the pavers in the newly-installed bump outs at these intersections will be set. Secured staging of project-related material and equipment will continue in the parking lot at 60 Woodland Road, resulting in the temporary loss of about 10 parking spots.

The Maplewood Police Department will continue to assist in any pedestrian/vehicular detours as needed during the project.

Please keep in mind:  1) There will be no construction or sidewalk/street impediments on Halloween and 2) The project will be suspended on November 16 until after the New Year to allow for our usual village holiday festivities and shopping period!

This is an important civic project that will enhance both the safety and the look of Maplewood Village. The Township is committed to minimizing inconvenience to the public and merchants during this project, and will continue to provide weekly updates on the Township website, email blasts, Twitter and via the Maplewood Construction News Facebook page.

If you have questions or concerns about the project, contact the Maplewood Business Administrator, Sonia Alves-Viveiros, at (973) 762-8120, ext. 2000, or [email protected].
