Members of the Maplewood FMBA Local 25 participated in the 8th Annual Cooked and Uncorked Food and Wine Festival along with 24 other professional fire departments on February 26th held at the Pines Manor in Edison, NJ.  Firefighters Ciro D’Urso, Bill Krueger, Sal Aliano, Joe Amon and Bill Davitt prepared hundreds of servings of Mushroom Bacon Risotto with a side of Cajun Shrimp and Lamb Chops for the guests and judges, which ultimately earned them first place in the “firehouse” category.

Dinners were prepared by firefighters in three categories: Firehouse, Gourmet and Dessert, which were all ranked by the judges on hand, who included NJ 101.5 radio personality Bill Spadea and former New York Giants players Bart Oates and David Diehl. All of the judges had there turn in taste testing each meal prepared and then casted their votes accordingly.

There were approximately 1000 guests that attended the event, which raised $50,000 to be split between the St. Barnabas Burn Center and the NJ FMBA Foundation.
