Maplewood Kids Learn to Cook

A great way to get children interested in eating good food — and helping mom and dad in the kitchen — is through cooking.

The Maplewood Recreation Department wants to help with Cooking Classes for Kids.

All cooking classes are held at the Maplewood Community Center, 120 Burnett Avenue. All classes are drop-off (yes!). Emphasis will be on Fall Cuisine:

  • Mini Chef II Mondays 4 – 5 PM begins Monday, September 22 and runs for 8 weeks. $110.00 for children 4 – 8 years old.  9/22 – 11/10.
  • Mini Chef I Thursdays 4 – 5 PM begins Thursday, October 2 and runs for 7 weeks for $100.00 for children 4 – 6 years old.  10/2 – 11/20 no class 11/6.
  • Junior Chef Tuesdays 4 – 5:15 PM begins Tuesday, September 23 and runs for 8 weeks for $120.00 for children in grades 2 – 5.  9/23 – 11/18; no class 11/4.
  • Baking for the Holidays II Mondays 4 – 5 PM beginning December 1.  It runs for 3 weeks for $40.00 for children 4 – 8 years old.
  • Baking for the Holidays I Thursdays 4 – 5 PM beginning December 4.  It runs for 3 weeks for $40.00 for children 4 – 6 years old.
  • Holiday Baking for Kids Tuesdays 4 – 5:15 PM beginning December 2.  It runs for 3 weeks for $45.00 for children in grades 2 – 5.
  • Holiday Baking Creations for Kids Wednesdays 4 – 5:30 p.m., beginning December 3.  It runs for 3 weeks for $50.00 for children in grades 4 – 8.

Register at the Recreation Office, 574 Valley Street/Town Hall, Monday – Friday from 9 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. or online at https://register.communitypass.net/maplewood under Fall/Winter 2014.
