The Maplewood Township Committee announced its selection of Sonia Alves-Viveiros as the next Township Business Administrator. Ms. Alves-Viveiros is currently Maplewood’s Assistant Business Administrator, a position she has held since September 2016. Previously she was the Deputy City Clerk in Summit and Assistant to the Municipal Clerk/Human Resources Assistant in Bernards Township.
“I am excited and eager to continue working with Maplewood Township to build on its efforts in being a welcoming community,” said Ms. Alves-Viveiros, who received her Bachelor and Master Degrees from Seton Hall University. She will be appointed at the May 1st Township Committee meeting and begin her new role on June 1st.
“Ms. Alves-Viveiros was selected from six very qualified candidates interviewed by the Township Committee. Her commitment to Maplewood, her knowledge of municipal management practices and her plans to optimize the delivery of municipal services to residents convinced the Township Committee she was the right person for the position,” said Mayor Victor De Luca. “We look forward to working with her for many years to come.”
